IBS Journal March 2016

There’s a new Senior Editor in town. Allow me to introduce my- self. The name’s Scott Thompson and I join IBS Intelligence and IBS Journal from banking technology title, FStech

I have over 16 years of experience in journalism, during which time I have held senior editorial positions at and contributed to a number of business and technolo- gy-related publications. At FStech, I covered a broad range of financial sector technology topics, and my main areas of expertise include FinTech, core banking systems, Bitcoin and the blockchain, the European, US and Australian retail banking sectors, challenger banks and more.

I have known of IBS for a very long time and it is my privilege to join the team. Needless to say I’m hugely excited to be part of the family. I am looking forward to bringing my expertise and views to our customers and new content to the thousands of FinTech community members who both visit our website on a daily basis and read our monthly journal.

I’m coming onboard at a particularly eventful period. Firstly, in this issue we unveil the results of the Sales League Table. Was 2015 a good year for core software vendors? Were the banks keen to modernise their back

office operations? Turn to page 16 and all will be revealed.

Secondly, as I’m sure you’re aware by now, IBS Intelligence is now a division of Cedar Management Consulting International, a leading global management and technology consulting practice. So, new owners, new Senior Editor and soon IBS Journal will have a new look. We’re hard at work on a major redesign and are aiming to unveil it in the very near future. And we’re also strengthening the online offering, with various new features and added functionality.

Lots to look forward to, then. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading this issue and, if you have any comments and feedback, please feel free to drop me a line at the below email address.
