Even as the Russian banking segment struggles with an increased burden of overdue loans, the number of banking system deals continues to be robust


Thirty seven new core banking and back office system deals in a country with 728 banks may sound minor, but when one views that in the context of an economic slow down, it is far from that, especially when there were also 43 deals done in the


previous year, in similar market conditions. The rise of the banking sector’s ‘overdue loans’, growing from 1 trillion rubles at the start of 2015 to 1.6 trillion towards the end of the year, does not seem to have impacted upon the investments that the

Inversia’s Bank 21 Century tops the Russian SLT this year, with over 11 deals in the do- mestic market. The supplier was also at the front of the pack in 2013 with 14 deals, but slipped to third position in 2014 with 10. Barring T-Finance, the microfinance startup where it notched up a lending solution sale, all the other deals for this supplier have been universal banking systems. Interest- ingly, four of its sales were replacements for R-Style Softlab, which seems to be the pat- tern over the years for this supplier. Nearly half of the Bank 21 Century users have been R-Style Softlab’s customers in the past. Diasoft has been consistent with its


number two position over the last three years. With ten deals this year, the supplier has had a good run, and a consistent per- formance through the year. The vendor also had an international sale outside Russia with Khan Bank in Mangolia. MSP Bank for its Flexetera solution, and Eximbank of Russia for its Diasoft FA# solution were two of the most notable deals that the supplier had last year.

With the exception of Flexsoft, the US


vendor who sold a UBS licence to El Bank, it has proved to be a domestic suppliers’ mar- ket throughout 2015.

CFT, who had 15 new deals to its credit in 2014, had a total of nine new name cus- tomers in 2015 (and another three outside Russia in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan), taking the third spot on the Russian SLT. Notable names were Gazenergobank, BaikalInvest- Bank and Transkapitalbank, which were all signed in December 2015. All of the suppli- er’s deals were for its CFT-Bank solution. Programbank had four new name deals including Togliattikhimbank in Tolyatti and Khakassky Municipal Bank in Abakan with the other two coming from Moscow-based customers. R-Style Softlab, with its RS-Bank solution, won three new name deals with Doris Bank, Mezhregion- bank and Stolitchnaya Raschetnaya Palata, all based in Moscow. The supplier also had to shed quite a few clients as part of its replacement initiatives, including the Inversia’s deals mentioned earlier. BIS also had three new deals for its QBIS solution, with two coming from Moscow.
