IBS Journal March 2016
Multi-country deals
Even while domestic deals recorded by local suppliers are not considered as part of the SLT, multi-country deals (where a single bank signs up for a roll-out across multiple
countries) are also considered as a single entry. There were five such deals recorded last year, courtesy of BML (two), Avaloq, Misys and Profile.
So What?| In conclusion…
While the year as a whole has generally been somewhat lukewarm, an undeniable buzz built up around IT investments as it progressed. Not only has there been a move northwards in terms of the number of deals, but the profile of these sales has been distributed across the globe, and
pretty much across system types too. Particularly, the upswing in the number of lending system sales, and the share of deals from Asian banks, have been the hallmark of the IBS Sales League Table 2016. Perhaps those rainy days when you stay at home are best suited for some housekeeping. Banks
tend to get their IT systems overhauled when markets are expected to take a deep breath. On a final note, with so much trac- tion around the new world of FinTech and related investments, the year ahead may also bring its fair share of surprises. Watch this space for further developments!
