This is because the overall sediment release volumes would be lower and confined to near the sea bed (rather than higher in the water column) along the alignment of the inter-array cables. Therefore, the magnitude of the impact from inter-array cable installation can be considered as low.

190. Potential receptors to the impacts of increased suspended sediment and smothering include the three biotopes identified within the East Anglia THREE site as well as a number of individual species which have either commercial or conservation value.

191. Of the biotopes identified as present across the East Anglia THREE site, none are considered to be sensitive to increased suspended sediment concentrations and all are considered to have low sensitivity to smothering by sediment deposition (Table 10.15). Furthermore, the deposited sediment layer is only likely to be in the region of 0.2mm thick, which is far less than the amount considered during sensitivity assessments and is far less than would be expected to occur under natural variation. Therefore the sensitivity of biotopes within the East Anglia THREE site to increased suspended sediment concentrations and smothering is considered to be low.

192. When considering biotopes and species within the East Anglia THREE site the mediummagnitude, low value of receptor and a low sensitivity can be considered to amount to an impact that is of minor adverse significance in accordance with Table 10.9.

10.6.1.2.2Offshore Cable Corridor 193. The detail of the offshore export cabling is dependent upon the final project design, but present estimates are that the total combined length of offshore export cables may be up to 660km in length (Chapter 5 Description of the Development). The worst case cable laying technique for this impact is considered to be jetting. The
