Impact

Key design parameters forming the worst case scenario meteorological masts would be 0.01km2.

3. Cable protection for cable crossings within the array 0.0007km2 4. Cable protection for up to 550km inter-array cables and 195km HVAC export cables between collector and converter station (assuming 10% of cable length requires protection and that the cable protection is 6m in width) would result in a footprint of up to 0.45km2.

Total footprint during operation within the East Anglia THREE site is therefore 3.16km2 (1.01% of the East Anglia THREE site).

5. Cable protection of export cable (East Anglia THREE site to shore) east of crossings with Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm export cable (assuming 10% of cable length requires protection and that the cable protection is 6m in width) would be up to 0.3km2.

6. Cable protection of export cable (East Anglia THREE site to shore) west of crossings with Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm export cable (assuming 2.5% of cable length requires protection and that the cable protection is 6m in width): 0.02km2.

Total footprint during operation, (i.e. associated with cable protection), within the offshore cable corridor is 0.32km2. (0.03% of the offshore cable corridor).

The overall total footprint would therefore be 3.48km2.

Impact 2: Physical Disturbance through maintenance activities

The maximum estimated area of disturbance during operation is difficult to predict at this stage of the project.

1. It has been estimated that a maximum of two visits by jack-up vessels to the East Anglia THREE site per day with a footprint of 1,200m2 would form the majority of the physical disturbance during operation this would lead to a total area of up to 0.88km2 per year (the equivalent of 0.2% of the East Anglia THREE site).

2. There may be the need to perform maintenance operations on electrical cables during the lifetime of the project however, it is impossible to

The maximum area for physical disturbance during operation is calculated. This area would be only temporarily disturbed and would rapidly recover.

Rationale

would be considerably reduced following further detailed design studies.
