Now in their 12th year, the longest list of unique and diverse nominations yet have been received.

Carbon Debate – Is the travel & tourism industry doing enough to address climate change? When: 15:30-16:45 Where: Platinum Suite 1 Exploring what the industry is doing to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions, to improve its carbon efficiency and to reduce its contribution to climate change. The belief that the tourism industry could do a great deal more to reduce carbon emissions will be discussed. Speakers: Fran Hughes, International Tourism Partnership; Sören Stöber, Travelife, ABTA; Christopher Surgenor, GreenAir Online; James Whittingham, TUI Group; and Rachel McCaffery, Intasave/Caribsave.
WTM Responsible Tourism Networking Reception When: 17:00-18:00 Where: Platinum Suite 3&4 The chance to meet and share views on responsible tourism.
When: 10:30-11:30 Where: South Gallery 19&20 Skiing, snowboarding and sleigh rides are growing in popularity - the environmental and social impacts that the development of snow-based tourism has on the mountains and frozen places will be examined and ways to reduce the impact explored. Chair: Dr Xavier Font, Leeds Becket University Speakers: Marion Telsnig, Crystal Ski Holidays; Sophia Pap, Saalfelden Leogang Touristik, Austria; Anna Lassmann, Environn’Mont Blanc; and Daniel Elkan, Snowcarbon.
Freshwater and Marine Cruising When: 11:45-12:45 Where: South Gallery 19&20 The panellists will describe what their business has done to reduce the negative impacts of cruise-based tourism.
