The FA Licensed
Coaches’ Club website
The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club website aims to bring members the latest research, opinion, methods and approaches in the game. The site, which is structured into age-appropriate sections with content ordered according to the FA LTPD four-corner model, aims to communicate the values and beliefs set out in The FA Future Game guides.
The FA have appointed three new members of staff dedicated to supporting the FA Licensed Coaches’ Club.
Lisa Hollis, Erinn Litchfield and Jenni Wisdom will form the new FA Licensed Coaches’ Club member services team with high quality service fundamental to the programme launch.
“Providing accessible and affordable continued professional development (CPD) for coaches who are active at every level of the game, is a serious recognition from The FA to the importance of the continued engagement of qualified coaches.
Establishing regular methods of dialogue through face- to- face training, and utilising modern web technology will enable us to cascade the latest in coaching and teaching whilst ensuring that coaches at every level feel a sense of professional recognition and status by having a seasonal licence,” explained acting Head of FA Learning, Jamie Houchen.
A number of professional partners have been engaged to widen the range of accredited CPD, ensuring that coaches have a menu of development opportunities designed to meet their individual needs.
“The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club will provide the platform for coaches to feel a part of The Club and benefit through this shared experience and environment, whilst at the same time turning their passion into a profession,” added Houchen.
With over 1,000 coaches already signed up, and many more expected to join at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, it has been a busy start in her new role for Lisa Hollis, FA Licensed Coaches’ Club manager. One which has been eased through the success of prior planning.
“The establishment of a pilot Licensed Coaches programme has enabled us to both test and develop the online registration process, and shape the look and feel of the website and content. It has also alerted us to the challenges of supporting every member to get their personal records in one place, and demonstrated the significant amount of effort made by studious coaches as they re- engage and update membership criteria. There has been a particular high demand for access to FA Emergency Aid courses, and utilising the new Online Safeguarding recertification course.” explained Hollis.
