A seminar about the impact the UK’s decision to leave the EU will have on international and domestic trade was held earlier this year. The event, called After the ‘Brexit’ Vote: Considerations for International


and Domestic Trade’, was delivered at Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce’s headquarters by Chamber members, Barclays as a free member to member seminar. The seminar considered UK imports, growth destinations, trade futures trends, Barclays Assistance, challenges and risks and information about Foreign Exchange. Northamptonshire Chamber chief executive Paul Griffiths said: “There was a good mix of businesses at the event.


“There was a lively discussion about where the pound is going to go in


light of the economic situation in America and our decision to exit the EU. “We are definitely finding that growing numbers of members are keen to


come to seminars like this one to take advantage of further discussion.” Barclays director of Trade and Working Capital, Darren Summerfield, ran


the seminar. He said: “It was a great opportunity for people to share their concerns


and knowledge with one another and the event went very well. “It also provided us with the chance to meet with people who aren’t Barclays members and explain to them how we could help them.”
