On Saturday 17th December at 7pm, The Capitol Theatre of Rojales will host the XXXVIII National Contest of Lullabies and Christmas Carols. A total of five choirs from Madrid, Albacete, Murcia and Alicante will participate in the contest with the aim of winning one of the three prizes put into play. From the 2nd to 17th December a temporary museum, in the Malecón de la Ecantá in Rojales, will show the history of the competition using photographs, instruments, sheets of music and past posters. In its almost forty years of history, 500 renowned choirs and about 15.000 singers have performed at the Capitol Theatre. For this reason, to recognise the competition's merit, last December Rojales appeared on five and a half million lottey tickets, sold all over the country. The president of the association, Snr. Augusto Viudes, has expressed his profound gra titude for the promoters and citizens who year on year work unselfishly for the competition. He has also encouraged people to take an active part in the competition's organisation and to become members of the Cultural Association. You can book the free tickets at the Tourist Information at Rojales’ Town Centre or by calling 96 671 50 01.
