property Awards success for Inland Homes

Specialist housebuilder and brownfield developer Inland Homes was delighted to be crowned Housebuilder of the Year 2016 at The South Coast Property Awards at the Hilton at Ageas Bowl in Southampton during July

Meridian Waterside, Southampton

The developer of high-profile riverside sites such as Meridian Waterside and Chapel Riverside in Southampton beat housebuilders across the South Coast to win the gong as well as scooping Regeneration Project of the Year for multi-award winning Carter’s Quay, on the harbour in Poole, Dorset.

Stephen Wicks, chief executive of Inland Homes, says: “Our projects on the South Coast are hugely important to us, so we are thrilled to have our endeavours recognised in this way. Most of our sites in the region have had significant technical challenges, but as a company we don’t just talk; we act. That’s why all of our successful South Coast schemes have been quick to move forward.”

About Inland Homes

Inland Homes plc is a specialist urban regeneration developer based in the south of England. The company is creating communities and homes which set a benchmark for future development. It has a growing portfolio of predominantly brownfield projects close to the South Coast, all of which focus on sustainability and good design.

The company is relatively young, established in 2005 and floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2007 as a specialist developer of brownfield land. sites with potential for residentially-led mixed- use schemes and adds value by obtaining planning consent. It installs the necessary infrastructure and either sells ‘oven-ready’ plots to other housebuilders or builds on the land itself.

Inland Homes is fast growing and welcomes new members of staff each year. When it started out 11 years ago there were just three directors on board, and by autumn this year the company will employ 44 people, including a new managing director. Despite this rapid growth, the team at Inland is close- knit, with excellent staff retention, and prides itself on being hands-on and delivering high quality at a competitive price.

Inland considers itself a generous and caring company, with a strong work-hard, play-hard ethic. Members of the team regularly engage in group sporting activities for charity. The company ran a ‘5k Colour Rush’ event for the second time in 2016 and raised more than £25,000 for Sightsavers, ForCrohns and NeST.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Inland does. Through planning and design, Inland’s specialists explore carbon reduction, sustainable construction and energy efficiency. The company uses materials and methods which improve its properties’ environmental performance. It also follows developments in policy to make certain that Inland leads the way in environmental sustainability.

The company applies meticulous attention to detail to the design of its homes and communities, focusing on providing established environments in which people choose to live. The company has a policy of continuous improvement, designing to meet needs beyond housing by enhancing landscaped outside spaces and including children’s play areas.

Inland Homes takes the communities local to its developments seriously, and engagement with them is continuous via public consultations, exhibitions, meetings and presentations. Through listening to local people, Inland progresses schemes which deliver community integration.

Inland is currently developing or applying for planning on a number of important sites across the South Coast including Carter’s Quay in Poole, the Wessex Hotel and Keystone House, the front door to Winter Gardens in Bournemouth, and Meridian Waterside and Chapel Riverside along the River Itchen in Southampton. The company is also forming a presence in Chichester.
