CUC Juniors
Canada’s status on the world stage is the result of decades of investment by grassroots players, coaches and supporters. Nowhere is that investment more important than in the junior programs, as it fosters the development of players, coaches and leaders of tomorrow. Leagues invest money and infrastructure to provide the basis for teams. Coaches spend countless hours working on skills and plays while also coordinating exhausting tournament weekends. Players spend their summers eschewing air conditioning to practice on dusty fields.
All of this culminates at CUC 2016 in Edmonton where, for three days, juniors from across Canada will demonstrate their athleticism, skill, and whether they embody the core values of our sport.
Junior Women’s - Who can topple western Canada’s powerhouse?
The junior women’s division has grown to 14 teams, with strong representation from Western Canada. BC leads the way with seven teams with Alpha, last year’s champions, at the top followed by Misfit and Bonfire. With such a large contingent, there is an opportunity for many young players to gain significant experience.
Ontario is sending Three teams with TORO as the top seed, followed closely by Wicked West and Nightfury Soars. The Prairies are sending two teams, with the ever-present MOFO and Red River Rebellion. Québec will be represented by their pan-province A-team, Aera, who will look to improve upon their result of 6th from last year. Finally, the hosts are represented by Fallout from Edmonton. Look for Alpha (BC), Misfit (BC), Bonfire (BC), TORO (ON), MOFO (MB), and Aera (QC) to battle for the medals.
