Female Focus Form and Emotion, art exhibition by artist Rod Davis
This series of paintings is intended as a celebration of life, expressed in passion, dance and contemplation. The inspiration was the death of Rod’s partner after which Rod wanted to express the memories of love, joy and wonder that a close relationship creates within a partnership, whether straight or gay. The use of bold colours, particularly red, was motivated by a poem written by the artist, Spirit of Red, which charts the power of the colour red in nature, passion and death.
Rod owns Galería Marque, originally the site of the Isabel Bilbao Gallery and later Galería Al Marge. The building has been completely reformed to an exciting design standard and also includes Rod’s studio and home. The gallery charges no fees nor commission on the work of other artists, but 15% of all works sold, including his own, is donated to a local charity of choice. Galería Marque, Calle Virgen del Pilar 9, Javea. Open until 27th August - Wednesday to Friday: 11am - 2.30pm and 5pm – 8pm and Saturday: 11am – 2.30pm. For Form and Emotion, the chosen charity is Colibrí Santa Pola (Humming Bird), to help extend its offer of support to people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers to the wider Costa Blanca area.

The next Antiques Fair at Salon Canor, Calle Assagador 03724, Teulada is on Monday 15th August.
This popular event at the elegant venue of Salones Canor opens its doors to the public at 9am and closes at 3pm. The bar is open for food and drink all day and parking and entry are free. Come and see antique, vintage and retro items all under one roof. Emaus, Akira, and The Calpe and Benissa Lions are represented and have stands selling donated items.
