CHUMS charity raising money for local food banks
CHUMS (friends of charity) have now sufficient cash to enable them to start donating to other charities.
We’ve got the numbers!
On Tuesday 12th July, four members of CHUMS went to the Lidl store in La Nucia with two members of the staff of La Nucia Social Services to buy groceries and chilled foods at a cost of 408€ for their Food Bank. It was a joy to see them taking boxes of foodstuff from the shelves and loading up three trollies with food destined for the 125 families on their registers. Anna sent for a van which whisked the food back to social services cold store where we later had a guided tour. The picture shows Marilyn, Peter, Pat and Brian with Anna and Rita with the groceries for the Food Bank. We would like to thank all our members for making this possible.
