Costa Barber Singers: The singers now have a new rehearsal venue, Casal D’asociaciones in Benissa where new singers are always welcome. The group teach four-part acapella harmony

Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only is it a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expats researching community life in Spain. The diary also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.


Adhoc Players Theatre Group: The Players are rehearsing, ‘The 39 Steps’ to be performed in October and November. They are also rehearsing sketches for scheduled performances in bars around Torrevieja and Los Montesinos. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7.30 pm, Sacko’s Bar on El Limonar and anyone is welcome to meet the team. Contact: theadhocplayers@gmail.com.


Cantabile Ladies Choir: The Choir are now preparing for a new regime with Valerie Beange, who preserves continuity from within the choir. If you are interested in joining a group of sociable, friendly ladies, rehearsals take place every Friday from

Caprice: After several successful initial rehearsals, this new Benissa based singing group are now on their summer break until 7th September when they will be working towards their first concert next February. Careline Theatre: Now fully cast and in rehearsals for their next production, a great fun play based on the UK acclaimed movie ‘The Full Monty’ including its great music score. Performance dates; 20th, 21st and 22nd October at 8pm. It should be great fun. Box Office opens


Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir: After a successful tour to Lloret de Mar and a concert with the Basingstoke Ladies Choir, the choir are taking a summer break. Look for the launch of their new 2016/7 yearbook at 2€. The choir’s first CD is also now available at 5€. Footlights Theatre Group: Now into summer break, Footlights’ members have been working hard in their rehearsals for their November variety performance. New members are always welcome and the group invite anyone interested

Jávea Players: The Players’ final production celebrating their 40th Anniversary will be Cherry Cabban’s production of ‘Our Man in Havana’ a witty and highly satirical adaptation by Clive Francis of Graham Green’s famous novel, which plays the Union Musical, Gata from Tuesday 8th to Saturday 12th November. Auditions are taking place on Sunday 3rd and Friday 15th July in the Javea Players’ Studio.
