of Daytona, we were too pumped to catch up on lost sleep. So we unharnessed our iron horses and rode out to the outer Florida islands which separate the Atlantic Ocean and the inter-coastal waterway for a welcome breath of fresh salt air and warm breezes. What a rush; neither of us had ridden since the joys of last December’s heat wave and neither of us could stop smiling! Over the next 8 days we met up
with other members of the CCR club and, together, experienced some of the finest scenery and roads east- central Florida has to offer. These included the A1A from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral through to Cocoa Beach and Highway 1, which we travelled frequently to get up to the various bike week ven- ues in Daytona. The two main bike week points
of interest for us were the Bruce Rossmeyer H-D dealership and the Daytona International Speedway venues, both icons of the motor sport industry. Americade on steroids, at these crowded, yet friendly, locations you could find the latest in loud pipes, deafening stereo equipment, bright lights and fat tires, not to mention the acres of cool bike paraphernalia and clothing. This year’s event was perhaps the biggest bike fest ever. We put on about 1500 kilometers
and met some of the nicest bikers from all over eastern North America, both at the show, on the road, and at our hotel. It didn’t rain once and the temperatures were very pleasing in the low to high 20s range. Not bad for a first ride of the year! CCR is all about networking, reach-
ing out, equipping, riding together and having fun. We are planning a few similar trips each year, including one to the Lone Star Bike Rally in Galveston, Texas in November. Open to both men and women, this is truly a four season bike club! Contact us at: info@canadianchris-
