Loaded up, we again wandered
off, letting the good roads that the motorcycle fraternity craves, guide us to the Highland Line road and Wheelers Maple Bush. We were instantly amazed by the immense log buildings (it took 8 original log barns to build the main restaurant), and by the fact that it is open 12 months of the year. The log restaurant is as massive as it is majestic; with an attached hall full of lots of shiny stainless steel machinery to render down the syrup. The real prize (to us) was the adjacent museums! Yes, the “world’s record holding largest collection of maple related artifacts” is intriguing (over 5,228 unique items), but wait until you see the Forest and Farm Museum. This is the largest collection of chain saws (over 600) and axes that you could imagine. This building’s fantastic mechanical treasures, ate up a huge chunk of our afternoon and, reluctantly, we had to hit the road, with a screaming need to return as soon as possible. We immediately got lost (for a while), saw some deer and great country, accessed only by back
