The most obvious difference between the two is their mowing pattern. As a lawn tractor reaches the end of each swath of grass and turns to mow in the other direction, its wider turn radius inevitably leaves patches of uncut grass. Zero-turn radius mowers can mow closer to trees, driveways and other obstacles in the yard, reducing the amount of time the homeowner spends trimming edges.
