new, innovative furniture polish, Gilboy’s Gold, with the distinctive company logo. Simon said: ‘Our customers are
always asking about how to care for their furniture, and we’re not happy with commercial products. A fine piece of furniture needs a fine product. ‘So we set about creating the best
polish for our customers, made from the purest pine turpentine and triple filtered beeswax direct from the bees at Buckfast Abbey. ‘We make the wax here in
Gilboy’s workshops with our own craſtsmen. It was developed here and tested here, what else could be better?’ Every jar has an added
environmental touch - a variety of giant sweet pea seeds, Gilboy’s Gold, to plant in the garden and say ‘thank you’ to the bees. Te leather seals on the jars
are also hand cut in the Gilboy’s workshop, to keep the wax fresh for as long as possible. Tere’s a refill service available and all mailed jars are posted in specially designed korrvu environmental packaging, which can be reused. Simon grew up in Chipping
Sodbury but clearly has his roots in the South Hams. His mum is from Cornworthy and dad from Ireland. He said: ‘While I was growing
up mum wanted to move back to Devon and her sisters were still here. I moved down on my own when I was 15 and lived with my auntie before my parents moved to Dartington. I joined KEVICC for the last year and have thoroughly enjoyed living here ever since. ‘I love it, it’s fantastic, especially
in this spot in Staverton. With the steam trains rolling past every day and the River Dart, it’s the most idyllic location possible.’ See
