resh off of our recent high of being named one of 2016’s must-see places by National Geographic Traveler magazine and nabbing the title of World Whisky of the Year 2016 for locally made Crown Royal, Northern Har- vest Rye, I think it is safe to say Winnipeg is in for one heck of a year. With

new destinations (Winnipeg direct to London), and hopes of a new airline (New- Leaf) on the horizon, we continue to prove Winnipeg is more than meets the eye. We can all celebrate in the continued revitalization of our downtown through the opening of the remodelled RBC Convention Centre, the 400-million True North Square develop- ment breaking ground and the decision for Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries to open its new headquarters on Kennedy Street. Te World Trade Centre Winnipeg is primed to welcome businesses from around the world to Centrallia this May. On the docket are timely topics such as increasing trade throughout the Americas and how to provide further economic growth to the Arctic. I have to say, it feels especially good to be a Winnipegger these days. You can probably tell I want to hurry spring as our feature destinations are chockful of things to do outdoors on your vacation. If you’re headed to Vegas you may want to walk through the Valley of Fire after you read our article, and we share some fun spring activities to take part in while visiting Kelowna and Tunder Bay. My favourite destination this issue, has to be our new feature – Bucket List Trips – which focuses on the beauty of New Zealand. It’s always been on my bucket list, and after all my research I am even more intrigued with this mystical land that seems to be right out of a fairytale. Of course we have a ton of great features on Winnipeg, our airport and more to keep you

entertained throughout your trip. I am off on a family vacay to sun and sand and I’ll be spreading the word as so many of you, our readers, have done about the wonderful place where we live, Winnipeg.

If you’re a frequent flyer who spends more time travelling than you do at your office, you might want to consider leasing a parking space here at the airport. It will save you time and money, and guarantees a covered stall in our parkade, located directly across from the terminal building. See inside for details. Before you jump into this issue of Te Hub, we’d like to thank all of our customers. For the

second year in a row, passenger traffic at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport reached record levels. Because of you, we welcomed nearly 3.78 million passengers in 2015. We are honoured to serve this community by providing access to destinations around the world.

his winter, travellers from our region enjoyed vacations to a variety of sun destina- tions thanks to our airline partners who offer direct flights to sandy beaches in the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Mexico. A little closer to home and also popular with travellers, were trips to U.S. destinations in Arizona,
