Feedback Letters

Dear Tania, For the first time I picked up Te Hub

(Winter 2015) in Winnipeg’s Richardson International Airport. What a first-class magazine! Every article is interesting and colourful, and I read it from cover to cover. I travel a lot and read many city and air- line magazines – Te Hub is a standout! My thanks and congratulations for as- sembling and publishing such an interest- ing, well-written, and high quality maga- zine. It reflects wonderfully on Winnipeg, and I hope Te Hub will be part of any public relations, Chamber of Commerce, or business prospectus mailing. Sincerely, James Teller Professor Emeritus PhD, PGeo, FGSA, FGAC

Tank you so much for taking the time

to read Te Hub and letting us know your thoughts. We love feedback! I am so glad you enjoyed the winter issue; our aim is to high- light the wonderful things that happen in our province and city. It’s always a pleasure to write for Te Hub. Cheers, Tania

Hi Tania, On Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, I picked up a copy of the Winter 2015 issue of “Te Hub” at the Winnipeg Richard- son International Airport. Toroughly enjoyed the issue from cover to cover. Even the Feedback/Letters section about Manitoba Magicians was rel- evant...James Cielen is my second cousin (his mother and mine are first cousins). And I was at the YWG to catch the direct Air Canada flight to Montego Bay, Jamaica, so enjoyed the article, “Take me away!”. I made sure I told anyone who would listen to me, on the resort beach near Ocho Rios about Winnipeg, Manitoba, Crown Royal, Jets, etc. etc. Please find at- tached the picture of Te Hub at Ocho Rios, Jamaica! Sincerely, Ray Ratynski

Tanks so much for your kind letter and

photos. I’m so glad you enjoyed the articles; it was an interesting issue. I thoroughly enjoyed touring the Crown Royal plant,

even though I feared being pulled over on the way home. (I didn’t drink anything but the smell of whisky seeped into my clothes and I still smelt like a brewery by the time I got home.) And meeting Mark at Polar was also a treat since I love the show IRT. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Spring issue in March at the airport to see your- self in print! Take care and thanks for reading and

helping to promote our city! Cheers, Tania

Good morning, Tania. I transited through Winnipeg, Mani- toba last night and picked up your pub- lication. Several articles caught my eye and I

enjoyed reading through the magazine. I was scanning Take Me Away on my way home to Tunder Bay. In consider- ing the Freeport, Bahama’s article I was amazed to find the author telling me that the ocean dropped off more than 160 kilometres at the Tongue of the Ocean – a quick check on a Bahama’s website told me the depth in that area maxes out at 6,000 feet - just over six kilometers.

I also thought the Garden of the

Groves Park sounded interesting. If it is 12 acres, that is quite do-able in a day or so, but if as the article states by compari- son, it is 48,000 square kilometres that might take the average tourist a little longer, as it would be just shy of 12 mil- lion acres.

Just thought you’d like to know that a couple inaccuracies crept in. Kind regards, Scott Kennedy

Tank you for sharing our oversight with

me. Tose references should have both read metres and square metres, not kilometres!! My apologies for the typo. Upon re-read- ing the article it seems glaringly obvious but it was somehow missed. Alas, what I mean to write and what I actually write aren’t always aligned, as is true here. I will share your letter with our reader-

ship to let them know my error. Tanks again for taking the time to let us know. Best, Tania
