Small in size, but huge in history Tere is always something to see and
do in Jersey, it all depends upon when you plan your visit and how long you aim to stay. Steeped in history and heri- tage, Jersey has real personality. From caveman wall paintings to Neolithic dolmens and castles from the Elizabe- than Age to castles from the thirteenth century; Jersey has it all. German oc- cupation throughout the Second World War left an indelible mark on the is- land’s surround. Te island’s patron saint, St. Helier, also happens to be the namesake of the island’s only town and small hub of businesses. Te hustle and bustle of peo- ple toing and froing this way and that exudes a certain charm. It may be the small narrow streets or the cobble stone paths, but there is a je ne sais quoi qual- ity here. Te central market, originally opened in 1800, lends its own unique mark to the town, which is compliment- ed by the venerable local fish market. Te island’s rich past can be seen and felt everywhere, you only have to look. Open air farmer’s markets often appear in Liberation Square, formerly the bus station now a pedestrian precinct. Tese markets add their own sense of flair to St. Helier.
The lush seaside at St. Brelades Bay.
St. Brelades Bay is a seaside playground favoured by locals.
Picturesque sights like Beauport Bay dot the coastline.
