Parvana has contributed so much to the overall business over the past 5 years. She was able to translate all signage into Lithiuan Russian Turkish Azerbaijan with the result that literally overnight people from such ethnic groups where presenting at the pharmacies requesting smoking cessation service, medicine compliance aids, allergy advice, cholesterol and blood pressure monitoring.

Parvana has completed NPA counter medicines Assistant, Health and Wellbeing advisor for Health Plus Pharmacy. She is also in the middle of the NPA dispensary assistant as she feels she wants to understand the whole process and roe of pharmacy even though her job is mostly retail based.

Being able to speak five languages has demonstrated a huge resource the pharmacy team now find they could not do without.

“The demographics of Randalstown have changed so much in the last few years which a huge influx of foreign nationals we found OTC consultations and prescription advice was becoming extremely difficult. The addition of Parvana to our team has reduced this massively she is now widely recognised and very often accompanies the pharmacist in translating advice both OTC and carrying out various services. The GP surgery has even called on her several times to help in patient appointments with translation,” says Edel McMahon, Pharmacy Manager.

Sales increased rapidly in the cosmetic departments as she was able to post in multiple languages on Facebook upcoming promotions and in store events.

Edel continues “Parvana then came to us and suggested that she work every Saturday as she felt lots of customers were missing out as she wasn't there to translate for them this although simple this forward thinking approach made a huge impact on our Saturday footfall.

Parvana has been inspiring in this role and has completely enhanced the whole team at Randalstown Pharmacies - The team are much happier attempting to help as they have the safety net of Parvana to turn to her for correct translation.

“The Support she provides to the Pharmacists accompanying in consultations, medicine use reviews and day to day advice is immeasurable. It gives the pharmacists
