Health Promotion kit D

on’t be caught out with charges BSO won’t reimburse your pharmacy for! You cannot claim an

out-of-pocket expense for any Reagent or Appliance listed in the Drug Tariff.

Out of Pocket Expenses D

UCA has been made aware that any Sigvaris appliance ordered through United Drug Sangers will have an out-of- pocket charge of 15% of the total net cost plus an admin charge which the manufacturer applies.

What the Drug Tariff says: “Where additional expenses have been incurred in obtaining from a manufacturer or wholesaler supplies of a drug, chemical reagent or appliance (other than those items for which prices are given in Parts I Category A and M, II and III of the Tariff), which the chemist or appliance supplier does not frequently require to provide, or where out of pocket expenses have been incurred in obtaining oxygen specially for supply against a prescription, payment of the amount incurred will be made if the contractor submits a claim giving details to the BSO with the appropriate prescription form and the BSO is satisfied that the additional expenses were necessarily incurred and were reasonable.

This is listed as a handling or Admin charge. BSO will not pay this charge. However, if you order directly from Sigvaris NO extra charge will be levied and you will only pay the Drug Tariff price.

Advice: when ordering any appliance on the Drug Tariff, ask if there will be an OOP expense. If there is, check if there is another way to order which will not incur charges.

If you incur an OOP expense for which you can claim reimbursement, ensure that you attach the invoice to the prescription and put in your Amended Bundle.
