Going Out - Page 49

It’s back again. Montgo gazing and lunch and evening ‘menu del dia’.

The fabulous Montgo Restaurant on the road that runs along the Montgo between Jesus Pobre and Javea is back open for the new season, and is again offering its incredibly good value ‘menu del dia’ for just 12€ (including IVA). This is available not just at lunchtime but, unusually for restaurants here, also in the evening.

FF Serving the community since 1993

What also makes this restaurant special is that it’s not just the usual choice of three different things for each course. You can choose between ten starters, seven main courses, and seven deserts, served with fresh alioli, a warm bread roll and water or half a bottle of decent wine per person. And if you want even more selection, for a small supplement there are a further seven main courses to choose from.

The Montgo is also one of the best paella restaurants on the Costa Blanca, proven by the fact that many Spanish families come from many kilometres away to pick up paellas and take them away for parties. There are eight different kinds of paella to tempt you. There is also a full a la carte menu should you prefer, and a tapas menu which is perfect for sharing and for trying out new dishes.

Being the best ‘menu del dia’ restaurant in the area, the Montgo Restaurant is always busy. So reservations are highly recommended, although they will always try to find you a table in one of their three indoor dining rooms, or on the large outside terrace which has a glorious view of the Montgo mountain.

The owners are always on the premises supervising and working, and the whole restaurant team is pictured here. They are closed on Thursdays for a well deserved rest. There is never a problem with parking as they have a large car park. For reservations call 96 579 5020.
