FOR OVER 40 YEARS, WME HAS BEEN WORKING TO IMPACT THE LIVES OF CHILDREN IN MASAYA, NICARAGUA. This work was born in December 1972 when a massive 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck. The quake, which was centered near the capital city of Managua, was devastating. The earthquake destroyed nearly 75% of Managua, leaving 15,000 injured and around 250,000 people homeless. Several thousands were killed with many buried in mass graves within the worst hit areas. World Missionary Evangelism and its supporters quickly responded to help children left homeless and orphaned by the disaster. As a part of that ongoing support, in 1973 a WME Children’s Home and School was estab- lished in the nearby town of Masaya.


By God’s grace and the continued support of our WME sponsors, we have impacted the lives of generations of children as well as the entire community around Masaya. To this day, the WME School is one of the few schools available for the area’s grade-school and middle-school children. It is well known that our school is a Christian facility, and government officials have recognized the commit- ment of the leadership at the WME School in helping students succeed.


Currently, the staff and administrators of the WME School are educating and caring for 270 area children. Many of these children are also a part of World Missionary Evangelism’s child sponsorship pro- gram. Thus, they are being touched 24/7 by the love, support and
