So many families in the United States need help just to get food, clothing and even school supplies. WME is there for children like these five who live in South Texas.
taken a toll on the local economy. We recently spoke with Fred and Marcia who supervise the food pantry located in West Virginia. Fred explained that many who come to the WME facility are doing so as a last resort. He tells stories of grown men who cry like babies because they have to stand in a line and ask for charity to feed their families.
For most, our food pantries are their last option. Even now, re- quests for assistance are on the rise because other food pantries in these areas have closed their doors, leaving fewer resources avail- able to help these neighbors in need. That makes WME’s outreach to the hungry in the US more critical than ever before! You also might want to know that our pantries are open year-round to help those who lack the means to put food on their tables.
In addition to our feeding programs,WME is now working with a partner dedicated to mentoring, discipling and restoring the lives of battered women. This program is recognized at a national level with a 100% reconciliation rate. The women served in this mis- sion come from a life of prostitution, hard drugs or abuse and have deep emotional, physical and spiritual wounds. Some have children who have been taken away by social services. Many of these women just want a second chance to make a better life for themselves and reclaim their families. They need people of faith who will pray and
