“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

– Matthew 7:7-8 – John 16:23-24

Gypsies are known as wanderers, always seeking a place of belonging and acceptance to call home. You may not realize it, but substantial discrimination continues against Gypsies within European countries. In Balaneasa, Romania, there is a band of Gypsies who have finally found a home.

These are a lively people who deeply love the Lord. Their worldly possessions are meager, and they live simply. Yet what they lack in possessions is more than made up for by the richness of the Holy Spirit in their midst. For 13 years, during the few months of the year when weather is good, these Gypsy believ- ers have conducted their services outside a local home. On those days, you can find them praying, singing and worshipping while sitting on benches and nearby steps. When winter brings its frigid temperatures and deep snow, these people crowd together into the small front room of a home belonging to one of their members. Their commitment to come together to praise God and to re- ceive the Word is obvious, but with such limited space it has been difficult for these Gypsies to welcome new people into their congregation.
