where the school had no prior experience or involvement. The goal of this trip was for the students to help local ministers and church mem- bers organize and build small businesses in order to support the local church members and help to expand their influence within the com- munities where they live and serve.
After looking at all our many and varied ministries in India and evalu- ating their needs, we selected Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu. We have a ministry and teaching center at Coimbatore, and the resi- dents are hard-working and familiar with English. The plan was to get the pro- gram started with the community dur- ing the first year and then have SAGU students return in subse- quent years to evaluate the progress on the various individ- ual business plans. I’m excited to report the first trip was exe- cuted successfully. In addi- tion to the micro-business project, the group from SAGU also brought
teaching materials from
CROSSTALK and its Today With God series. The teaching materi-
als written for this TV production contain dramatized word-for- word reenactments of the Gospels of Matthew, Luke, John and the Acts of the Apostles.
Joshua told us, “It was such a blessing to work with WME and the group on the ground in India. It is a faith-building expe- rience to see the work of the Kingdom being done by His
humble servants. It’s also en- couraging to get to see the hunger for God that is out there. The fields truly are ripe for the harvest.”
