PERFECT BROW imperfect
editor: Celestial Williams THE STRUGGLE IS REAL
It’s morning. You sit in front of the mirror staring at your eyebrows. Confused, overwhelmed, and nervous about how you tame your brows. Do you pluck them? Do you have them waxed? Do you just leave them alone? What shape should they be?
These are all valid questions. Our Beauty Director, Celestial Williams, is here to help!
WHERE SHOULD I START?
“If you’ve never tweezed your brows, it’s always a good idea to get them waxed just once. Let the technician know that you’d prefer them to remain as full as possible. You just need them shaped correctly. After this is done, it’ll be easy for you to tweeze them yourself as they grow back. Use a magnifying mirror to get the little hairs, but be sure to sit back and get the bigger picture often.”
DO I HAVE TO USE PRODUCT ON THEM?
“There’s no need to use product on them if they’re full. If you have some sparse areas, use a brow powder that’s a shade lighter than your roots and a small stiff brush to fill them in. When you’re done, use a spoolie to brush them out. A spoolie looks like a mascara wand but is used on the brows.”
WHAT IF I MESS UP?
“If you tweeze one too many, don’t panic! It’ll grow back. If you’ve already been tweezing for a while and you feel like you need a brow makeover, then grow them out completely. I know it’s hard, but it’ll be worth it! After they’re all grown out, get them professionally done, and then work to keep them groomed, but imperfectly perfect.”
