you think I’m gonna do, outsing you? (Buffalo laughs) That wouldn’t be very kind, would it? So, back to Max. He said, “This is what I need from you, Bekka. I need to be me, like you do you.” He said, “I’ve never seen you be any other way, you are always the same Bekka.” I said, “Well I have no way to teach you that, dude.” And he said, “Yeah you do, just keep doing what you’re doing.” And I said, “Wow. He fig- ured it out.” So he has a video out now of a song we wrote

called “Natural Wonder” so check that out. We’ve written about half of his record so far, and I am not a good mixer, so we’re waiting on a good mix - I mean, I’m not crappy, but I’m not where I wanna be yet. I’m not ready to put his livelihood into my mixing hands. I can record great, but mixing is a whole other ani- mal, and I do know that he deserves better than

my mixing skills. I am sure it will be a great album. “Nat- ural Wonder” is a great track. Back to what you were saying about wondering if people would find you attractive if you weren’t a singer. Just like your Mom, most people I know would find you ladies attractive if you worked at the cot- ton mill! You know y’all are both beauti- ful. And cute as pie! But the point is, cute don’t matter for nothin’ if you’re scared of hard work. And I love going on the road and I love work- ing, and I’m fifteen minutes early to everything, and that’s cute to me. I’m not talking about physical, who cares? I’m healthy and I take care of myself, just so that I can sing for two hours for people. And it’s not for me, it is for the peo- ple. I wanna share something that might mat- ter. I don’t care if it rhymes, or if it’s funky or trendy, I don’t really care about that. I was raised knowing that that stuff really don’t mat- ter. That stuff may fill your pockets up, but I re- ally want to reach out to people that might want to come over to the house and sit at my kitchen table and get to know me through my music. And if they connect with it and it makes them smile or brightens their day, on the radio or on the stage, or in heir home while they vacuum, that’s what keeps you goin.’ That's cute as pie right there. You just gotta do it for the right rea- sons and go to bed knowin’ you don’t gotta be a jillionaire, you don’t have to be number one, you just can’t quit. You gotta keep doin’ what you're doin’ because it’s making somebody happy. •
