Diary date EVENT GOES WITH A BANG!

Extremely muddy conditions didn’t dampen the mood at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table (RTWRT) annual fi reworks display at Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells. More than 10,000 people attended the event and were treated to an amazing display. Alongside the fi reworks, the crowd enjoyed local real ales from Fuggles and gourmet burgers from Cau restaurant, as well as a delicious range of foods from Street Diner and other concessions. With KMFM’s Andy Walker in attendance as DJ for the evening, it all came together to create a fantastic atmosphere. Simon Addis, Chairman of Royal

Tunbridge Wells Round Table, said: “Once again the fi reworks were

a great success. Thank you to the people of Tunbridge Wells for coming out in their thousands to support us. All proceeds are distributed to local causes and whilst our costs go up year after year, we made over £20,000 on the night which will form part of our annual ‘Giveaway’ in the new year. There was also a bucket collection for Young Carers which made £2,000. “The event could not take place without the hard work of the volunteers from Round Table and also a number of other organisations that help on the night including Pantiles Rotary and Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar. We are also extremely grateful for the support from Buss Murton who sponsor the event.”

Sunday, 6th December, Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells The Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra welcomes Xuefei Yang to perform with them the well-known guitar concertos by Rodrigo and Vivaldi. Hailed as a musical pioneer, her journey began after the Cultural Revolution, a period where Western instruments and music were banned. She was the fi rst-ever guitarist in China to enter a music school and went on to become the fi rst internationally- recognised Chinese guitarist. • Visit www. rtwso.org
