commercial property Shane Raggett of Broadlands Commercial Property Agents reports strong activity in the commercial property market across all sectors. Demand continues to be strong for offi ce/industrial/ warehouse and retail space despite short supply particularly for good-quality offi ce space. Rental levels for prime offi ce space in Tunbridge Wells have gone from £18.50 per sq ft to £23 per sq ft. Broadlands have recently carried out a letting of 5,000sq ft of offi ces at Oakhurst House, Mount Ephraim, with 20 car parking spaces to a local insurance fraud company for £23 per sq ft pa. Now that developers will be able to demolish

offi ces without planning permission and replace them with homes under changes to Permitted Development Rights good quality offi ce space will be at a premium. One offi ce building that will not be turned into residential is 1 Meadow Road, which Broadlands will be offering once a complete refurbishment has been undertaken (pictured below). It is 16,000sq ft with 65 parking spaces.
