Mississippi Delta tamale appetizer, made in the corn husk, a true treat. (six of ‘em served with slaw and crackers, $10.25) Now these things taste great, but neither Scott nor I could eat much of them, as they were true to their name, and hot! Before I went through all of my health issues back when, I would have consumed all six with ice cold beer, but my old tummy has become very sensitive these days. I hate that, because these are the real deal. Other interesting menu items I hope to try
some day include the fried green tomatoes appetizer and buttermilk fried pickle spears. Other appetizers include Fried Jalapenos; Smoked Sausage, Cheese and Pickle Plate; and their Award-Winning Hot Wings. There are three other salads available, vari-
ous chicken plates and a chicken livers plate. There’s Mississippi Farm Raised Catfish (yum!) and various beverages, including cold beer. Today I had the unsweetened tea. Although we saved no room for dessert,
Champy’s does offer some tempting sweets- Homemade Key Lime Pie or Mississippi Mud Pie ($3.25 a slice or $16.99 for the whole pie! Talk about sinful!) As a matter of note, there are three other
Champy’s Restaurants - Chattanooga, Tn, Daphne, Al, and Alabaster, Al. Champy’s gets the “KUDZOO Seal of Ap-
proval” Highly recommended. Treat yourself today, or next time you are down in the Shoals.
