It’s a free show on the final Sunday of each month. We plan to continue next year run- ning from April through October. The bands play for free and the guests get in for free. We have also be going to several music festi- vals and large scale events to promote the museum outside of Macon. Lastly we have partnered and participated

in more community events to raise awareness and bring more people to the museum. My feeling is the more bodies that come onto the property, the more chance they will come in- side and see what the museum is all about.

Who are some of the well known visi- tors to the Big House? Since I joined the museum we have seen sev- eral bands come to visit including Gregg All- man’s band, Planet of The Abts, The War on Drugs and a few others. One day Mr. Chuck Leavell appeared with a group of hunters that were visiting his tree farm. It was a rainy day and they were unable to hunt so Chuck brought them to the Big House. We often see

Willie Perkins, long time ABB tour manager too. As our volunteers tell people, “You never know who will be here on any given day”. This fall we hope to have Jaimoe come in at the end of September as well as Mr. Warren Haynes in October.

What are your immediate and future plans for the museum? My success is based on raising awareness and bringing more funding to the museum. We have so many ideas that we would like to im- plement in the coming years but without funding and guests coming through the door, none of it will be possible. We are looking into more grants and other ways to raise money to build our endowment. Lastly we plan to offer more intimate ways to see the museum including small shows in our living room for 30 guests, dinner parties after hours in the living room and how to bring bigger named artists to play on the museum grounds. •
