phone. I must admit, it was like a dream for an old school Thornton fan that used to dream of justmeeting the man. After the show, I decided I would wait in

the dressing room, but Tom and Billy told me to go out front to the lobby where I was asked to sit with the band and meet fans and sign stuff. The band lined up in such a way that Billy was last, since most folks want to talk to him and get pictures and stuff. I sat to his right, so I thought folks would meet him and maybe nod at me on their way out, But no. Surprizingly I het a great meny nice folks, many of whom compilemented my music, often singling out specific songs. May folks asked me to sign their Boxmasters photo, poster or CD. I told Billy I didn’t feel right about signing their albums, and he said some- thing very nice and told me I was one of

them. That made me happier than a sex ad- dict with a bottle of Viagra. Scott stood behind me watching it all go

down, as did Jim and Susan, and I pulled a chair over for Joey to sit beside me. A couple of friends who work at Spartanburg Methodist College where I graduated once upon a time were there, as was a class mate, whose name I cannot for the life of me recall. He made tons of photos from the edge of the stage, and I have been unable to find him on Facebook or elsewhere. He is a pro photogra- pher, but that’s all I know. If you read this buddy, hit me up, please. After the show, me and Scott said goodbye

to Billy Bob and the band, and hit the road for home. The tour would continue out west, but for me. it was sadly my last show of the tour. Great memories, great fun. •
