English Choir starts new season
The long-established English choir have started their new season and celebrated a return to their old familiar
surroundings. They have returned to the ‘pensionistas’ hall in Teulada for their weekly Thursday rehearsals after the hall has undergone a major
refurbishment. They have gone directly into rehearsals for their November concert which will be held on 7th November in the Salon d’Actos in Teulada. The concert will be titled “Atlantic Conversation” as it features music from both sides of the great ocean. Choir President John Turner said: “The signs are good for a great season - everyone was keen to go and there were new members eager to enjoy the delights of singing in a very good choir. The English choir prides itself on the very wide variety of music it sings. Everything from rock and pop to classical and show music. Our repertoire includes up-to-date music and even music centuries old. We have more than 30 members, but would welcome more to help us cope with a busy concert season”. Royal British Legion Javea
The Royal British Legion has now returned to the Social Center behind the ‘Salud’ in the old town of Javea.
They meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month commencing at 11am. There is a bar to get refreshments and they start to arrive about 10.30 am. There is a great social program throughout the year with the next being the Poppy Appeal lunch in October. You do not need to have serviced in the forces to join - anyone can be a member.
