artmouth Food Festival returns this October with a mix of delicious regional food and drink, chef demonstrations, workshops, lively food
debates and fun for all the family. set in various loca- tions throughout our beautiful estuary town from Friday 23rd to sunday 25th October, the 3-day event is a foodie’s heaven, celebrating the very best food, drink and culinary skills from the south west. this year the festival is under the chairmanship of Camilla beloe of Corinium Care. Of the festival, Camilla says: “It is a wonderful event, showcasing the very best of our town and our community really gets behind it. the food and drink is delicious and everyone has so much fun plus we are promoting our local producers which is a real focus for us.” Celebrated chef mitch tonks, festival
advocate said: “the Dartmouth Food Festival is a celebra- tion of the fresh and exciting produce we have available to us locally. With the coast and countryside on our doorstep and the strong character of our farming community, we are able to produce some of the very best, truly delicious food and drink.” As well as the launch of a new book and his restaurant rockfish keeping him busy, mitch will be
taking to the stage to host cooking demonstrations. mitch will be joined by a host of other exciting names
in the food world and local food heroes with the likes of simon Hulstone of the elephant restaurant and brasserie, Darrin Hosegrove of Ashburton Cookery school and nick evans from rick stein’s st petroc’s bistro sharing their skills. Wine seminars will once again be led by wine expert, susy Atkins, a regular on the bbC’s saturday Kitchen as well as wine columnist for the sunday telegraph’s stella magazine and will feature the likes of Fiona beckett wine columnist for the guardian, tim mcLaughlin-green and James brown from browns Hotel. the royal Castle Hotel will also be hosting food and wine matching sessions in the Flavel Arts Centre and Fla- vel Church so expect an exciting, informa- tive and highly entertaining programme!

Avenue gardens venues will be open until 8pm on the Fri- day so festival goers can browse and enjoy the stalls while soaking up the evening atmosphere. the Festival bar will also be open until 8pm on both Friday & saturday; visitors can enjoy a tipple before moving on to a delicious meal at one of the town’s many restaurants and eateries.
