IN KABBALAH WE are taught that creation causes a separation – duality. On the inner we long to be whole and on the outside we long to be whole and usually search for the wholeness through the ‘other’. It is this journey towards wholeness that is our task in life. And when we achieve this we then become aware of the ‘other’ – the importance of The Divine, Spirit, God, whatever you wish to call it. “Individuation is a process whereby man becomes truly

The Kabbalah is an ancient teaching which is gaining more and more popularity in the modern world as a tool for self-development and psychological awareness. Certainly this is how I teach – for what is more important to a person than understanding the meaning of his or her life?


Only towards the end of his life did Jung truly explore the work of Kabbalah. One of the well documented reasons for this is the era in which he lived (pre and during Nazi era).


Any discussion about Kabbalah will bring up the question of religion. Please remember where the word religion comes from – from the Latin Religere – which literally means “to bind back together that which has been torn asunder”.

the teachings of the shadow and of archetypes can all be paralleled to the psychological journey towards wholeness on the Tree of Life. There is a beautiful Kabbalistic myth that states that


the angel that accompanies us on our life journey touches us on our upper lip at the moment of birth (and that is why we have the indentation on our upper lip) and at that touch our memory is wiped clear so that we will have freewill on this journey. The child then has to travel through the lessons of the archetypes of the Major Arcana – and therefore the lessons on
