HOW DID IT ALL START?

Having learnt the basics of a signage business while working for, and then running the Northampton branch of a large signage franchise, I was determined to offer my skills and knowledge of business in the area at a more personal level.

WHAT’S YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?

Not only surviving year one with my own business but also making a modest profit.

WHAT IT THE BIGGEST RISK YOU’VE EVER TAKEN? Walking away from a secure job and taking the plunge into self-employment.

IF YOU COULD TURN THE CLOCK BACK, WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?

I would have pushed myself into starting the company sooner. It was the hardest decision I have ever made but by far the most rewarding.

WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU MOST IN YOUR JOB?

The continuous variety of clients and work that provides me with the opportunities to develop and learn.

WHAT KEEPS YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT? I try not to bring too much of my work home with me so the only thing keeping me awake are my two very young children.

WHICH BUSINESS PERSON DO YOU MOVE ADMIRE?

Sir Richard Branson – anyone who owns more than 400 companies and is worth billions of pounds is clearly doing many things right. I admire his tenacity and his personal brand.

WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS WORKING ON AT THE MOMENT?

We are currently working closely with a national charity that is very close to my heart and hope to provide signage as well as provide fundraising for a large annual event.

WHAT MADE YOU JOIN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE CHAMBER AND HOW ARE YOU MAKING USE OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP?

I initially joined the Chamber to access the wide range of networking opportunities through the various events that the Chamber organises. An additional benefit since joining has been signing up with Westfield Health. It’s extras like this that make my decision of signing up for another year a no-brainer.
