HR COURSE OPENS OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL FIRM


Chamber member Arolite Limited is developing its workforce by supporting its employees as they study for a part-time postgraduate diploma at Northampton Business School. Finance and HR manager Syrita Foster


completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management (HRM) at Northampton Business School at the University of Northampton, while working for her Wellingborough-based employer, a specialist catering equipment service and maintenance provider. She said: “I started the Postgraduate

way of working to be much more strategic and impact driven. The organisation I work for has seen an immediate benefit from each of the modules I have studied and they value my new approach to working. APPRENTICESHIP VACANCIES An apprenticeship fair held at Moulton College was well attended by many local building and construction employers promoting their apprenticeship vacancies. Hundreds of young people interested in plumbing, brickwork, carpentry,


construction management and civil engineering were given the opportunity to speak directly to employers and to express an interest in their apprenticeship vacancies. James Banazak, contracts manager at Jeakins Weir, a family-owned


building business in Corby, attended the fair. He studied Level 1 Brickwork at the college after leaving school and later


achieved a BSC Honours in Construction Management. James said: “Jeakins Weir is committed to developing young people and


events such as these are important to give young people an idea of the breadth of roles there are within construction and building.”
