home’s only mother figure. She has taken on that huge chore while also building a future for her brother and herself. Her brother re- cently graduated from high school with out- standing grades. Peggy is hoping he can attend college, but they are going to need some help to make that dream a reality. She constantly prays for someone to sponsor her brother’s higher education as she searches for scholarships. As his acting parent, she is encouraging him to not give up on his dreams no matter what obstacles he faces. Daily she urges him to pray and believe.

Victoria with a child being helped through WME Sponsorship

Peggy shared with me how she cries and cries because there is no one near to care for her as she cares for everyone else. She often asks God why He let her go through life like this with no adult to love her. At times she feels she cannot reach out to anyone. Thankfully, WME has helped ease her burden through the years. It is doubtful she and her brother could have made it without WME’s support.

During our visit, I shared a scripture from Galatians of her being a daughter of God, and I explained what that promise means. I also mentioned the blessings found in Deuteronomy 28 and Jeremiah 29:10-13. I urged her to take solace in these scriptures and to keep praying.

Thanks in part to WME and its people, Peggy knows God has been her parent all these years. Thus, the Holy Spirit has empowered her to remain strong. Her dream is to open her own photography business in the future. She also wants to continue to attend an Assembly of God church so she can grow spiri- tually. But most of all, she wants her brother to go to college. Perhaps we can help this remarkable young woman realize all those things.

God heard the groans out of her soul and was moved. He has been there even in Peggy’s darkest days just like He is there for all of us.
