PHARMACY SUPPORT STAFF MEMBER BARRY HOUSTON, HUGHES CHEMIST, GLASGOW
Barry Houston of Hughes Chemist in Glasgow scooped the Pharmacy Support Staff Member Award. Barry has worked at Hughes Chemist for nineteen years and has completed a variety of training courses throughout his career in here and is a very competent dispenser. He regularly participates in all the services that are provided by the pharmacy whilst everyone recognises him as the one to contact within Hughes Chemist
Barry told us, “I am simply stunned with this. I have been doing this job for the best part of nineteen years, having began with Hughes Chemist as a work experience student in high school. I have been there ever since! I am really chuffed to bits to win this award but I would say to anyone, go for it, enter the awards, everyone is
a winner as quite simply there are no losers in this profession.”
Kate McKeown, National Sales Manager, NHS, RB UK stated, “For Reckitt Benckiser this is a big thing, supporting pharmacy staff in all kinds of ways such as with our online training for all staff from the pharmacists right through to the assistant staff. We are a big part of their pharmacy environment and so it means a lot for us to support this award.”
