“ONCE AGAIN, TONIGHT IS OUR OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE PHARMACY IN SCOTLAND ACROSS A RANGE OF OUR PROFESSION’S DIFFERENT PRACTICE SECTORS AND RECOGNISE SOME OF THE YOUNG FUTURE CONTRACTORS AND LEADERS OF OUR PROFESSION”
ommunity pharmacists and their teams have been honoured for their efforts in enhancing patient care,
pharmaceutical care and excellence at the annual Scottish Pharmacist Awards.
Ten winners were victorious on the night. Davidsons Chemists won big on the night, scooping no less than two awards, whilst Professor Rose Marie Parr was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Pharmacy accolade.
The evening was hosted by Grant Stott and witnessed over 400 industry professionals converge on the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Thanks must go to AAH
Pharmaceuticals as the event partner alongside associate sponsors in addition to the category award partners, without whom the event would not have been possible.
This pharmacy all-star healthcare cast would not have been complete without the presence of Community Pharmacy Scotland CEO Harry McQuillan who welcomed guests whilst noting the importance of these awards.
“Once again, tonight is our opportunity to celebrate pharmacy in Scotland across a range of our
profession’s different practice sectors and recognise some of the young future contractors and leaders of our profession,” he said.
“This year we welcome back AAH Pharmaceuticals as the main event partner and we are delighted to have you on board again in 2015.
“To win one of this evening’s awards also requires the co-operation and commitment from the panel of judges. This year we are once again indebted to our senior industry colleagues for their time and commitment in reviewing all submissions and the team has been very impressed by the effort and diligence which those individuals applied to their judging. Many of these colleagues are with us tonight and you are all very welcome.
“Finally I would like to thank colleagues and companies who are kind enough to host tables and support this evening and help bring over four hundred people here tonight to celebrate success. Congratulations also go to all the category fi nalists and I wish you all every success tonight and for the future,” he added.
“Community Pharmacy Scotland has a real opportunity with these awards to recognise real success and those people who have put so much into the profession over so many years.”
