But that was last year and with Christmas and New Year now a distant memory, it’s now time to look forward and as an industry, thoughts are now focused on the new season and the year ahead. So what does 2015 have in store for the wet leisure industry? The truth is it’s impossible to say. However, based on my own experience in January and from speaking to many within the industry since the well earned Christmas break, there are strong signs already that it could be another busy year. Or at least that’s how it’s shaping up, certainly in the short and medium term.

Of course, a good year depends heavily on the quality of products or services a company supplies and for 2015 there’s a lot of innovation around. So keeping abreast of the latest products, technologies and trends is a must for any successful business. Of course, there are different ways to achieve this and SPN is one great option. Seminars both large and small are another and a favourite of many

On the subject of exhibitions and following a successful change of venue last year, the SPATEX trade show, which this year takes place 1 – 3 February, is returning to the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at Ricoh Arena in Coventry. In 2015 it will occupy a larger hall space than last year and with products galore to see plus twice the amount of Workshops and Seminars over the three days, it’s shaping up to be one of the best UK events ever. In this issue, we feature a full preview of the show and take a closer look at what’s on offer and what visitors can expect to fi nd when they arrive. SPN will have a stand at SPATEX so we hope to see many of our readers there.

This issue, we also put the spotlight on a number of other key topics for the new season including pool water treatments and systems, UV systems, the latest hot tub brands and models, ten great pool cleaners, access systems for the less abled and Apps that are being used in the wet leisure industry. There’s also useful information from the B SPF, SPATA and BISHTA plus the second part of ‘Managing Cryptosporidium’ from the STA. In addition, we’ve also got all the latest industry news from both here in the UK and abroad.

I hope you enjoy this latest issue of SPN and here’s to another successful year!
