In fact smart devices, or more specifically at that time smartphones as we know them, only came into existence with the first generation iPhone in mid 2007 and the first Android device making an appearance the following year. Apps for these products soon followed and with every passing year, they, like their hardware hosts have become more sophisticated and the useful Apps are increasingly relied upon by owners for day to day tasks. Today, their use is the norm and there’s literally an App for just about anything. Of course it goes without saying that some are either gimmicky or are complete overkill, but some are truly useful. Apps are just like the devices they reside on in that they come in all shapes and sizes – from scarily complex to ingeniously simple and a decent App provides users with the flexibility to operate a task or function on the go.
