Hot Tub Firm Swamped With Enquiries After Appearance On ‘The Apprentice’

Urban Cedar Managing Director Antony Perry has said that his company has been inundated with enquiries about their unique hot tub designs following a starring role in a recent episode of the BBC’s hit show ‘The Apprentice’. The company’s unique hybrid conce pt cedarwood product was featured during the eighth episode of the BBC1 series. It was filmed in May at the Royal Bath & West Show where Urban Cedar was exhibiting and achieved 30 hot tub sales during the four-day event. The exposure has helped to make an instant impact by increasing the company’s profile to potential customers. It follows the company’s achievement in becoming a hot tub supplier for Hoseasons this year. “The Apprentice has been fantastic

exposure for us and excellent publicity for our products,” said Antony. “It was quite an entertaining episode and we’ve had a very positive result from it.

“Everybody we’ve been speaking to has seen the programme. We’ve also been swamped with telephone calls and emails from people saying they’ve seen our hot tubs on TV and would like to receive further information. “It was a good exercise for us and has put our name out there in the market, but we really have had to put a lot of work into the process to achieve this success.”

The mission of the group is to harmonize global safety standards for portable hot tubs. “APSP/IHTA has committed 15,000 euro for the next three years to assist in the standards process,” said APSP President and CEO Rich Gottwald. “Global harmonization of portable hot tub standards is important to the future success of spa manufacturing and ultimately will increase consumer satisfaction with a consistent product.” Bob Lauter, CEO of Master Spas and key member of the APSP/IHTA initiative remarked that this effort was several years in the making with interest from across the globe. “Swedish colleagues initially convened a meeting in 2013 to discuss a way forward, and now through cooperation between many nations, we are on the verge of harmonising standards to increase efficiency and equality in trade and use.”

• Safety benefits as system requires remote to open cover • Automatic lift (electrically operated) • Heavy lift capability • Easy mounting • Universal assembly for different manufacturers of hot tubs / spas • Weatherproof motors • Powdercoated frame and mounting system

To install the ASC-2, the clearance requirements are: back 18” and sides 6” and the minimum height required is two thirds of the cover length, (front to back).
