Glasgow Chamber staff grow their skills

lasgow Chamber is delighted that two of its youngest members of staff have gained


recognition for training and development they have recently undertaken. Danielle Grant, Commercial


Team Administrator, has achieved an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration – completing it in record time. Danielle said: “It was a great achievement for me to complete my SVQ level 3 in Business Administration. I gained more skills and experience from completing my SVQ and it helped me understand and make improvements in my day-to-day tasks and become more organised.” Danielle was supported


through her SVQ by Catherine Gordon from Microcom Training. Danielle said: “Catherine was


very helpful and supportive in helping me understand and assist in any questions I had completing assessments. Overall, I found my training for my SVQ level 3 a very enjoyable experience and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to gain this qualification.” Catherine, who is an Internal


Verifier and Senior Assessor with Microcom Training, said: “Danielle was an excellent candidate. Her commitment and enthusiasm to achieving the award meant that she diligently worked towards every goal that was set. Danielle’s positive atitude when

our International Certification Department as a Certification Executive, has completed her Carnet Signatory Assessment Course, as approved by British Chambers of Commerce. To achieve this, Katie completed six months of training in the Carnet Department within Glasgow Chamber and she then went to London for her assessment course in November in order to become a signatory for the Chamber. Carnet Convention. Tey enable the importer to receive the consignments into their countries duty free, provided that the goods are re-exported back into the UK within the specified time frames. Tere are lots of regulations surrounding the issue of carnets, such as is it a Carnet Convention Country, what are the goods category being exported, are they allowed into the country, what is the time frame involved and how is the security being lodged? “I find this a very interesting part


of my role as no two carnets are ever the same.”
