Distributing Breadth and Depth
On becoming a young Centre Leader in April 2008, the job description specified the need for me to attend the NPQICL course. I had my reservations about this but welcomed the opportunity to continue my professional development. In September 2009 I enrolled with The Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC) and began my journey of trusting the process.
Being
leadership in the ever-changing world of Children’s Centres, I believed I needed to know everything; underneath this exterior, I was a manager who lacked self-belief and confidence. By giving Joy and the team opportunities to lead on areas of work, made life easier for me and allowed time for reflection, to identify need, plan for the future and most of all to see the team begin to
