survived the times. Irene Corey opened it in 1985 as Cap’n Pinkey’s and later changed the name to Irene’s. Glebe residents Frank and Sharon Johnson took over in 2007, and today their daughter and son- in-law, Kara-Lee and Alex Golota, are manning the helm. They’re committed to maintaining the high standards of good food and good entertainment and also support of the community, particularly in the arts and entertainment field. The food is really good. The


kitchen is open daily from 11:30 am for lunch – until midnight for the late night munchies. You can drop in and sample some of the classic dishes, or try one of their tasty daily specials. They also have Half Price Munchie Mondays. Everything on the munchie menu is half price all day long.


On Fridays they have Lugtread


battered Fish and Chips for only $12. They also serve brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 to 3:00. They have a solid menu of good made-from-scratch meals and desserts. Prices are reasonable and the food is great. The entertainment is fantastic. I


have read that this is the pub where Canadian Juno Award winners Monkey Junk was born and the Blues Harp Blowoff was just recently held. While they obviously support the blues (2012 Blues Society Blues Heart Award recipient) they also appreciate all genres of music. This is live entertainment, folks,
