Baja 500 (June 5-8) The 46th Tecate SCORE Baja 500 starts

Baja 1,000 (Nov. 12-16) The “Granddaddy” of all desert racing, the

Tecate SCORE Baja 1,000, this year features a purist’s one-way, 1,130 mile point-to-point grueling race from Ensenada to La Paz in Baja California Sur. More than 300 vehicles are slated this year to “beat the Baja” in the 47th annual version of this classic race. Fiesta de la Vendimia, Ensenada (August 1-17) The fast-growing Guadalupe Valley wine


region north of Ensenada has really come into its own and its wines are Mexico’s finest. USA Today recently called it the world’s third best wine destination. The two week Grape Harvest Festival (Fi- esta de la Vendimia) has almost 50 culinary and

Rosarito Seafood Fair (August 18) The Rosarito Beach

Puerto Nuevo Lobster Festival Not to be trumped by Ensenada and


Rosarito, the “lobster village” of Puerto Nuevo (about 10 miles south of Rosarito) has its own festival, with music, dancing and its trademark crustacean, the spiny lobster. The village’s 22nd annual event will be held in October.
